Minutes - 4/1/2025 - Special Meeting Property Tax Levy

APRIL 1, 2025, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.  Board members present were Dietrich, Carper, Nelson, Bittinger II, and Ung.  Staff members present were Joshua Widman, Assistant County Attorney, Karen James, Board Administrative Assistant, Ryan Ericson, Budget and Finance Director, Melissa Thomas, HR Director, and Michelle Skaff, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

The meeting was called to order.

A public hearing was held at 4:00 p.m. on proposed property tax levy for FY25-26.  The Chairperson called on anyone wishing to be heard. 

Auditor Skaff presented information regarding the budget notices and hearing.

Brian, Concord Township, Lauren, Rural Woodbury County, Jerry Van Pearsen, Sioux City, Brenda Sopoci, Diane, Elk Creek Development Area, Cindy, Sioux City, Calvin Towns, Salix, unnamed individual, and Jeremy Bach, Sergeant Bluff addressed they board with concerns about increasing assessments. 

Motion by Bittinger second by Nelson to close the public hearing.  Carried 5-0.

The Board adjourned the meeting.
