OCTOBER 29, 2024, FORTY-FOURTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS 

The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 4:30 p.m.  Board members present were Ung, Radig (by phone), Bittinger II, Nelson, and Taylor. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Assistant, Melissa Thomas, Human Resources Director, and Patrick Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board. 

The regular meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a Moment of Silence.

Motion by Ung second by Taylor to approve the agenda for October 29, 2024. Carried 5-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by Ung second by Nelson to approve the following items by consent:

To approve minutes of the October 22, 2024, meeting.  Copy filed.
    
To approve the claims totaling $596,590.08.  Copy filed.

To approve the property tax refund request for Ann Rickord, parcel #884706105008, in the amount of $2,804.00.  Copy filed.

To approve the reclassification of Cathia Wise, Lead Custodian, Building Services Dept., effective 10-28-2024, $21.70/hour, 5%=$0.97/hour.  In House Vacancy Posted on 10/9/2024.; and the appointment of Kenie Davidson, Clerk II, County Treasurer Dept., effective 10-30-2024, $19.24/hour. Job Vacancy Posted on 9/4/2024.  Entry Level Salary:  $19.24/hour.  Copy filed.

Carried 5-0.

Motion by Taylor second by Nelson to receive the 2024 report of the Weed Commissioner.  Carried 5-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by Taylor second by Nelson to receive backup material for sick leave discussion.  Carried 5-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by Nelson second by Taylor to receive backup material for sick leave discussion.  Carried 5-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by Nelson second by Radig to change the sick leave payout for wage plan and appointed deputies to 20 years of service at 28%, with a maximum of $5,000 or the option of 1-year single health insurance if employee has 500 hours of sick time provided in lieu of payout.  Carried 5-0.  Copy filed.

The Board recessed for a meeting of the Bennett McDonald Levee & Wolf Creek Drainage Districts Trustees meeting.

The Supervisors meeting was called back to order.

Reports on committee meetings were heard.

There were no citizen concerns

Board Concerns were heard.
     
The Board adjourned the regular meeting until November 5, 2024.
