MAY 11, 2021, NINETEENTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 4:30 p.m.  Board members present were Monson (by phone), Radig, Ung, Wright and De Witt.  Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Assistant, Joshua Widman, Board Attorney, Dennis Butler, Budget/Tax Analyst, and Patrick Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

The regular meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a Moment of Silence.
      
Kevin Grieme, Siouxland District Health Director, updated the Board on efforts dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Motion by De Witt second by Radig to approve the agenda for May 11, 2021. Carried 5-0.  Copy Filed.
 
Motion by De Witt second by Radig to approve the following items by consent:

To approve minutes of the May 4, 2021 meeting.  Copy filed.

To approve the claims totaling $916,229.91.  Copy filed.

To approve the reclassification of Travis Ryan, Civilian Jailer, County Sheriff Dept., effective 05-03-21, $24.56/hour, 10.8%=$2.41/hour.  Per CWA Civilian Officers Contract agreement, from Class 1 to Senior Class due to 6 years of employment and Associates Degree.; the reclassification of Jacklyn Fox, Asst. County Attorney, County Attorney Dept., effective 05-17-21, 3.6%=$3,263/year.  Per AFSCME Asst. County Attorney Contract agreement, from Step 9 to Step 10.; the appointment of Jakob Schultz, Temporary Engineering Aide, Secondary Roads Dept., effective 05-17-21, $14.00/hour.  Not to exceed 120 days.; and appointment of Kyle Sanderson, Motor Grader Operator, Secondary Roads Dept., effective 05-26-21, $24.31/hour.  Job Vacancy Posted 3-9-21.  Entry Level Salary:  $24.31/hour.  Copy filed.

To approve the request for Denise Cockburn to remain on the county health insurance.  Copy filed.

To receive the Auditor’s Quarterly reports for October 1, 2020 thru December 31, 2020 and January 1, 2021 thru March 31, 2021.  Copy filed.

Carried 5-0.

Motion by Radig second by De Witt to approve the contract for gravel excavation with Holly Brown Construction for $42,085.00.  Carried 5-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by De Witt second by Wright to receive the letter of appointment of Patrick Gill as the minority party representative to the 2021 Temporary Redistricting Commission.  Carried 5-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by Radig second by Wright to approve the of appointment of Suzan Stewart and Tom Kleen as the majority party representatives to the 2021 Temporary Redistricting Commission.  Carried 5-0.  Copy filed.

The Board heard reports on committee meetings.

There were no citizen concerns.

The Board adjourned the regular meeting until May 18, 2021.
