JULY 24, 2018, TWENTY-NINTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. Board members present were Ung, De Witt, Taylor (by phone), Pottebaum, and Radig. Staff members present were Joshua Widman, Assistant County Attorney, Dennis Butler, Budget/Tax Analyst, Karen James, Board Administrative Assistant, Melissa Thomas, Human Resources Director, and Michelle Skaff, Deputy Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

The regular meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a Moment of Silence.

There were no citizen concerns.

Motion by De Witt second by Radig to approve the agenda for July 24, 2018. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Pottebaum second by Ung to award the bid for pickup truck to Jensen Motors for $32,429.00 and installation of equipment lift from Steffen Truck for $3,630.00. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by De Witt second by Pottebaum to reallocate and utilize funding from the 2017 CIP LEC Intake Project. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by De Witt second by Ung to accept the quote by Duct Medic for $37,500.00 and 15% contingency funding in the amount of $5,625.00 to address problems that may arise while the vendor is on site. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Radig second by Pottebaum to approve the contract and bond for bridge replacement project #FM-CO97(132) 55-97 to Dixon Construction for $1,019,550.42. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Radig second by Ung to approve the plans for project #BROS-CO97(133)-5F-97. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

A public hearing was held at 4:45 p.m. for 1st Tower Lease Amendment. The Chairperson called on anyone wishing to be heard.

Motion by De Witt second by Radig to close the public hearing. Carried 5-0.

Motion by De Witt second by Ung to approve the 1st Tower Lease Amendment with Senet. Carried 5-0. Copy filed. 

Discussion on drafting a Resolution to withdraw funding for the Sioux City, IA Expo Center, f.k.a. Ag Expo Center. Copy filed.

The Board heard reports on committee meetings.

Patty Erickson-Puttmann shared Sioux Rivers meeting items.

Board concerns were heard.

The Board adjourned the regular meeting until July 31, 2018.
