FEBRUARY 6, 2018, SIXTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. Board members present were Ung, De Witt, Pottebaum, Radig and Taylor. Staff members present were Dennis Butler, Budget/Tax Analyst, Karen James, Board Administrative Assistant, Melissa Thomas, Human Resources Director, Joshua Widman, Assistant County Attorney, and Michelle Skaff, Deputy Auditor/Clerk to the Board.
Dennis Butler provided an update on the proposed tax rate. Copy filed.
Motion by Taylor second by Radig to reduce the overall Juvenile Detention budget by $195,689 related to the de-authorization of 2 positions. Carried 4-1. Pottebaum opposed.
Motion by Taylor second by Radig to receive the Juvenile Detention Facility budget as submitted. Carried 5-0.
Motion by Taylor second by Ung to receive the Juvenile Detention Youth Guidance Services budget as submitted. Carried 5-0.
The Juvenile Detention Mental Health/Teen Court budget was eliminated due to the de-authorization of position.
Motion by Taylor second by De Witt to table the Board of Supervisors County Services – Regional Distribution – County Services budget until 2/20/2018. Carried 5-0.
Motion by De Witt second by Ung to reduce the budgeted Health Insurance Fund increase from 5% to 0%. Carried 5-0.
The regular meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a Moment of Silence.
Judge Hoffmeyer shared that he will file his order about guns in the Courthouse.
A public hearing was held at 4:35 p.m. for the sale of parcel #894723384002, 3320 Parkland Place. The Chairperson called on anyone wishing to be heard.
Motion by Taylor second by Radig to close the public hearing. Carried 5-0.
Motion by Radig second by De Witt to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign a Resolution for the sale of real estate parcel #894723384002, 3320 Parkland Place., to Nick Noyes, and Adam Wilcox, 2301 George St., Sioux City, IA, for $510.00 plus recording fees. Carried 5-0.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Woodbury County, Iowa, that the offer at public auction of:

ARLENE WETROSKY
FOR HER SERVICE TO WOODBURY COUNTY
WHEREAS, Arlene Wetrosky has capably served Woodbury County as an employee of the Woodbury County Treasurer’s Office for 27 years from April 31, 1991 to March 30, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the service given by Arlene Wetrosky as a Woodbury County employee, has been characterized by her dedication to the best interests of the citizens of Woodbury County; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA that the undersigned members of this Board thanks and commends Arlene Wetrosky for her years of service to Woodbury County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is the wish of all those signing below that the future hold only the best for this very deserving person, Arlene Wetrosky.
