DECEMBER 14, 2017-SPECIAL MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS The Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. Board members present were Ung, Taylor, Pottebaum, and Radig; De Witt was absent. Staff members present were Patrick Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.
An applicant for the Human Resources Director position requested an executive session.
Motion by Ung second by Radig to go into closed session per Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(i). Carried 3-0 on a roll-call vote; Radig and De Witt were not present.
Motion by Pottebaum second by Ung to go out of closed session per Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(i). Carried 3-0 on a roll-call vote; Radig and De Witt were not present.
Supervisor Radig joined the meeting.
Steve Hofmeyer, Deputy Commissioner of Elections presented the Official Canvass results for State Senate 3rd District Vacancy Special Election were as follows:
State Senate 3rd District Vacancy Special Election held on the 12th day of December, 2017
There were 151 after-election ballots of which 142 were accepted and added to the tally, and 11 provisional ballots of which 10 were accepted and added to the tally.
State Senator District 03 (Woodbury)
Jim Carlin Received one thousand nine hundred thirty-nine (1939) votes
Todd Wendt Received two thousand one (2001) votes
Candidate Total Three thousand nine hundred forty (3940) votes
SCATTERING Eight (8) votes
TOTAL Three thousand nine hundred forty-eight (3948) votes
Motion by Ung second by Radig to receive and certify the Official Canvass results for the State Senate District 3 Special Election. Carried 4-0. Copy filed.
The board conducted an interview for the Human Resources Director by phone.
Motion by Taylor second by Ung to go into closed session per Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(i). Carried 4-0 on a roll-call vote.
Motion by Pottebaum second by Taylor to go out of closed session per Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(i). Carried 4-0 on a roll-call vote.
The Board adjourned the meeting.
