SEPTEMBER 12, 2017, THIRTYFIFTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. Board members present were Radig, Ung, and Taylor; De Witt and Pottebaum were absent. Staff members present were Dennis Butler, Budget/Tax Analyst, Karen James, Board Administrative Coordinator, Ed Gilliland, Human Resources Director, Abigail Sills, Assistant County Attorney and Patrick Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.
The regular meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a Moment of Silence.

Motion by Ung second by Radig to approve the Agenda for September 12, 2017. Carried 3-0. Copy filed.
Motion by Ung second by Radig to approve the following items by consent:
To approve minutes of the September 5, 2017 meeting. Copy filed.
To approve the claims totaling $1,116,567.76. Copy filed.
To approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign a Resolution setting the public hearing date and sale date of parcel #894720386007 & #894720386008, 1123 W 14th St. & 1402 Myrtle St., Sioux City.

NOTICE OF PROPERTY SALE
WHEREAS Woodbury County, Iowa was the owner under a tax deed of a certain parcel of real estate described as:
The South Twenty-two feet of the West Thirty-two feet of Lot 7 in Block 38, North Sioux City Addition, in the County of Woodbury and State of Iowa

The West Forty-four feet of Lot 7, except the South Twenty-two feet of the West Thirty-two feet thereof, in Block 38, North Sioux City Addition, in the County of Woodbury and State of Iowa
(1402 Myrtle Street)
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Woodbury County, Iowa as follows:
1. That a public hearing on the aforesaid proposal shall be held on the 26th Day of September, 2017 at 4:35 o’clock p.m. in the basement of the Woodbury County Courthouse.
2. That said Board proposes to sell the said parcel of real estate at a public auction to be held on the 26th Day of September, 2017, immediately following the closing of the public hearing.
3. That said Board proposes to sell the said real estate to the highest bidder at or above a total minimum bid of $50.00 plus recording fees.

WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
To approve the reclassification of Anthony Velasquez, P/T Youth Worker, Juvenile Detention Dept., effective 9-28-17, $19.80/hour, 3%=$.65/hour. Per AFSCME Juvenile Detention Contract agreement, from Grade 1/Step 2 to Grade 1/Step 3. Copy filed.

To approve change of committee form: Woodbury County Courthouse Advisory Committee for Historical Preservation – Addition of members Leesa McNeil and Shane Albrecht. Copy filed.

Motion by Taylor second by Ung to direct the Board Administration office to approve the attendance of the Rural Economic Development Director and to register up to two Supervisors. The registration fee will be split between the budgets of Economic Development and the Board. Carried 3-0. Copy filed.
Motion by Taylor second by Radig to award the bridge project #LFM-(L1)—73-97 to Dixon Construction, Inc, Correctionville, IA, for $145,852.80. Carried 3-0. Copy filed.
Motion by Radig second by Ung to reject the quote for project HMA Levelers 2017 and to allow the County Engineer to revise the project scope and rebid the work at a later date. Carried 3-0. Copy filed.
