OCTOBER 10, 2013-SPECIAL MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS The Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. Board members present were Boykin, Clausen, Smith, and Monson; Tripp was absent. Staff members present were Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board and Steve Hofmeyer, Deputy Commissioner of Elections.
The meeting was called to order to canvass the Sioux City Primary Election held in Woodbury County on October 8, 2013.
Steve Hofmeyer, Deputy Commissioner of Elections, announced there were forty-three (43) after-election ballots which were not timely postmarked, and were not added to the tally. Official Canvass results were as follows:
For the office of Sioux City Council Member (4 year term) there were Ten thousand eight hundred twenty-four (10824) votes cast as follows:
Chris Baltushis Received seven hundred thirty-five (735) votes
Douglas K. Batcheller Received one thousand seven hundred thirty-nine (1739) votes
James B. France Received nine hundred seventeen (917) votes
Pete Groetken Received two thousand three hundred seventy-six (2376) votes
Dan A. Moore Received two thousand seventeen (2017) votes
Keith W. Radig Received one thousand four hundred sixty-three (1463) votes
Maria Rundquist Received one thousand two hundred thirty-nine (1239) votes
Thomas P. Venesky Received three hundred thirty-eight (338) votes
We Therefore declare Douglas K. Batcheller, James B. France, Pete Groetken, Dan A. Moore, Keith W. Radig, and Maria Rundquist duly elected to go on to the City Regular Election November 5th, 2013.
Motion by Smith second by Boykin to approve and accept the Official Canvass results. Carried 4-0. Copy filed.
The Board adjourned the meeting.
