JUNE 18, 2013 — TWENTYFIFTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Board members present were Clausen, Monson, Smith, Boykin, and Tripp. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Coordinator, Dennis Butler, Finance/Operations Controller, Joshua Widman, Assistant County Attorney, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

The meeting was called to order.
Motion by Monson second by Boykin to approve the minutes of the 6/11/2013 Board meeting. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.
Motion by Boykin second by Monson to approve the appointment of Octavia Flores, P/T Youth Worker, Juvenile Detention Dept., effective 06/19/13, $16.52/hour. Motion by Boykin second by Monson to make a $75,000 Financial Contribution to support the Children’s Museum of Siouxland Project over a three year period from Riverboat Funds. Carried 3-2; Tripp and Clausen opposed.
There was a discussion on the possibility of CIRAS (Center for Industrial Research and Service) and the county sharing resources for rural economic development.
The Chairperson asked if there were any individuals or groups wishing to make a presentation of items not on the agenda, or Supervisors concerns.
Jim Marshall, 4201 Denise Court, Sioux City discussed the issue of extra duty for sheriff deputies with the Board.
Motion by Smith second by Tripp to go into closed session per Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(a). Carried 5-0 on a roll-call vote.
Motion by Monson second by Boykin to go out of closed session per Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(a). Carried 5-0 on a roll-call vote.
Motion by Boykin second by Monson to overturn the decision of General Relief discussed in the previous executive session.
The Board adjourned the regular meeting until June 25, 2013.
