JUNE 04, 2013 — TWENTYTHIRD MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.  Board members present were Clausen, Monson, Smith, and Tripp; Boykin was absent.  Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Coordinator, Dennis Butler, Finance/Operations Controller, Joshua Widman, Assistant County Attorney, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

The Claims were approved as presented.  Copy filed.

The meeting was called to order.

Motion by Monson second by Tripp to approve the minutes of the 5/28/2013 Board meeting.  Carried 4-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by Tripp second by Monson to approve the separation of Michael Foxhoven, Equipment Operator, Secondary Roads Dept., effective 05/24/13. Other. and the appointment of David Putzier, Temporary Summer Laborer, Secondary Roads Dept., effective 6/05/13, $8.50/hour.  Not to exceed 120 days.  Carried 4-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by Tripp second by Monson to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign a Sales Order Agreement for the Purchase of a Model DS850 High Speed Digital Image Scanner for Woodbury County  Elections.  Carried 4-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by Tripp second by Monson to receive the appointment of  Jessica Swanger, 130 1st St., Danbury, Iowa as Council Member to the City of Danbury, to fill the office previously held by Laura Jensen-Streck, until the next regular election.  Carried 4-0.  Copy filed.

Project presentation re:  Transload Flyash Facility (north of 26th & Port Neal Rd.) by Clark Meyer, Divisional Mgr. for Concrete Materials, a division of Sweetwater Construction of Sioux Falls, SD; GIS Parcel #874719400006.

Motion by Smith second by Monson to award the Free & Reduced Meal Contract to CBM Foodservice, Sioux Falls, SD, for $4.25 per meal per recommendation of Mark Olsen, Juvenile Detention.  Carried 4-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by Monson second by Tripp to receive bids for Project L-B09(2)-73-97 bridge replacement with a 90” CMP culvert on Lennox Ave section 23-89-43 and to submit them to the County Engineer for review and recommendation.  Carried 4-0.  Copy filed.

There was a discussion to set a date for a Board Retreat. The Board set a time and date of 9:00 a.m. on June 14th, 2013.

The Chairperson asked if there were any individuals or groups wishing to make a presentation of items not on the agenda, or Supervisors concerns.

The Board adjourned the regular meeting until June 11, 2013.
