NOVEMBER 27, 2012 — FORTYSIXTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.  Board members present were Clausen, Boykin, Tripp, Monson and Smith.  Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Coordinator, Dennis Butler, Finance/Operations Controller, Joshua Widman, Assistant County Attorney, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board. 
      
The Claims were approved as presented.  Copy filed.

The meeting was called to order.

Motion by Monson second by Tripp to approve the minutes of the 11/20/2012 Board meeting.  Carried 5-0.  Copy filed.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to approve designating Monday, 12/24/2012 as the floating Christmas Holiday date for Wage Plan employees.  Carried 5-0.

Motion by Tripp second by Boykin to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign a Resolution approving petition for suspension of taxes through the redemption process for Donald G Perera, 2508 S Paxton St, Sioux City, parcel #884706304003.  Carried 5-0.

RESOLUTION APPROVING PETITION OF SUSPENSION
OF TAXES THROUGH THE REDEMPTION PROCESS

WHEREAS, Donald G. Perera  as joint titleholders of  a property  located at 2508 S. Paxton St.,   Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa, and legally described as follows:

Parcel #884706304003

Lot Twenty-two (22) and South Two Feet (S 2 ft) West Fifty-four Feet (W 54 ft) Lot Twenty-three (23) Block Four (4) OAK PARK Addition, City of Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa
                                              
WHEREAS, Donald G. Perea, as joint titleholders of the aforementioned property has petitioned the Board of Supervisors for a suspension of taxes pursuant to the 1999 Iowa Code Section 447.9(3) and,

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors recognizes from documents provided that the petitioner is unable to provide to the public revenue; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors hereby directs the County Auditor to redeem this property  Parcel  #884706304003 owned by the petitioner from the holder of a certificate of purchase of the amount necessary to redeem under section 447.1, and hereby directs the Woodbury County Treasurer to so record the approval of this tax suspension for this parcel.

SO RESOLVED this 27th day of November,  2012.

Motion by Clausen second by Tripp to approve the appointment of JoAnn Sadler, 3448 160th St, Correctionville, IA to the County Library Board of Directors to replace Wanda Carrier 2967 185th St., Moville, IA.  Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Clausen to approve an application for a Class C beer permit, with Sunday Sales privileges for Heritage Express-WinnaVegas, 1501 330th Street, Sloan, effective 01/18/2013 through 01/17/2014.  Carried 5-0.  Copy filed.

The Chairperson asked if there were any individuals or groups wishing to make a presentation of items not on the agenda, or Supervisors concerns.
      
Motion by Boykin second by Tripp to go into closed session per Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(c).  Carried 5-0 on a roll-call vote.

Motion by Monson second by Tripp to go out of closed session per Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(c).  Carried 5-0 on a roll-call vote.

The Board adjourned the regular meeting until December 4, 2012.
