JULY 17, 2012 — TWENTH-NINTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Board members present were Monson, Clausen, Boykin, Tripp, and Smith. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Coordinator, Joshua Widman, Assistant County Attorney, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.
The Claims were approved as presented. Copy filed.
The meeting was called to order.
Motion by Monson second by Tripp to approve the minutes of the 07/10/2012 Board meeting. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.
Motion by Boykin second by Clausen to approve the separation of Terry Jacobsma, Custodian, Building Services Dept., effective 07-12-12. Dismissed; the reclassification of Joshua Widman, Asst. County Attorney (Civil), County Attorney Dept., effective 07-26-12, $58,953/year, 4.8%=$2,704/yr. Per Wage Plan comparability with AFSCME Asst. County Attorney contract, from Step 3 to Step 4; the reclassification of Matthew Verzani, Asst. County Attorney, County Attorney Dept., effective 07-27-12, $53,550/year, 5%=$2,573/yr. Per AFSCME Asst. County Attorney Contract agreement, from Step 1 to Step 2 and the separation of Mark Rippke, Temporary Engineering Aide, Secondary Roads Dept., effective 07-27-12. Motion by Boykin second by Monson to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign an “Authorization to Initiate Hiring Process” for F/T Female youth Worker, Juvenile Detention Dept., AFSCME Juvenile Detention: $16.52/hour of per contract language and for Custodian, Building Services Dept., AFSCME Courthouse: Grade 1/Step 1 to Step 3 Range: $12.92 to $14.23/hr. Motion by Clausen second by Monson to receive County Auditor’s Quarterly Report. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.
Motion by Clausen second by Tripp to receive as submitted the Semi-Annual Report of Funds in the Hands of the County Treasurer at close of business June 30, 2012 per County Treasurer, Mike Clayton. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.
Motion by Monson second by Boykin to approve the preliminary platting for the Re-platting of Lot 5 of Bollmeyer’s First Addition (a Major Subdivision). Carried 5-0.
Motion by Boykin second by Tripp to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign a Resolution accepting Lot 5 Bollmeyer’s First Addition (a Major Subdivision) into Woodbury County. Carried 5-0.

ACCEPTING LOT 5 BOLLMEYER’S FIRST ADDITION
(A MAJOR SUBDIVISION)
INTO WOODBURY COUNTY
WHEREAS, THE OWNER AND PROPRIETOR DID ON THE 17TH DAY OF JULY, 2012, FILE WITH THE WOODBURY COUNTY ZONING COMMISSION A CERTAIN PLAT DESIGNATED AS THE REPLAT OF LOT 5 OF BOLLMEYER FIRST ADDITION, A MAJOR SUBDIVISION TO WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA; AND
WHEREAS, IT APPEARS THAT SAID PLAT CONFORMS WITH ALL OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE CODE OF THE STATE OF IOWA AND ORDINANCES OF WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA, WITH REFERENCE TO THE FILING OF SAME; AND
WHEREAS, THE ZONING COMMISSION OF WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA HAS RECOMMENDED THE ACCEPTANCE AND APPROVAL OF SAID PLAT; AND
WHEREAS, THE COUNTY ENGINEER OF WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA HAS RECOMMENDED THE ACCEPTANCE AND APPROVAL OF SAID PLAT.
NOW THEREFORE, BE, AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, WOODBURY COUNTY, STATE OF IOWA, THAT THE REPLAT OF LOT 5 OF BOLLMEYER FIRST ADDITION, A MAJOR SUBDIVISION TO WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA BE, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY ACCEPTED AND APPROVED, AND THE CHAIRMAN AND SECRETARY OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, WOODBURY COUNTY, STATE OF IOWA, ARE HEREBY DIRECTED TO FURNISH TO THE OWNER AND PROPRIETOR A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION AS REQUIRED BY LAW.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to approve Indirect Cost Proposal per recommendation of Michelle Skaff, Homeland Security. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.
Motion by Monson second by Clausen to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a Resolution setting the public hearing and sale date for Parcel #407626, 3422 Grandview Blvd., Sioux City. Carried 5-0.

WHEREAS Woodbury County, Iowa was the owner under a tax deed of a certain parcel of real estate described as:
That part of Lots Thirteen, & Fourteen lying west of creek, Lot Fifteen, that part of Lot Sixteen not vacated, all in Block Ninety-Seven, Pierce’s Addition to Sioux City
(3422 Grandview Blvd.)
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Woodbury County, Iowa as follows:
1. That a public hearing on the aforesaid proposal shall be held on
the 31st Day of July, 2012 at 10:14 o’clock a.m. in the meeting
room of the Board of Supervisors on the first floor of the Woodbury
County Courthouse.
2. That said Board proposes to sell the said parcel of real estate on the 31st
Day of July, 2012, immediately following the closing of the public
hearing to City of Sioux City only per Code of Iowa 331.361
(2).
3. That said Board proposes to sell the said real estate to City of Sioux City only
for consideration of $6.00 plus recording fees.
