Minutes - 10/13/2011 - Special Meeting

OCTOBER 13, 2011-SPECIAL MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 3:00 p.m.  Board members present were Smith, Tripp, Clausen, and Boykin; Monson was absent.  Staff members present were Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board and Steve Hofmeyer, Deputy Commissioner of Elections.

The meeting was called to order to canvass the Sioux City Primary Election held in Woodbury County on October 11, 2011.

Steve Hofmeyer, Deputy Commissioner of Elections, announced there was one (1) provisional ballots which was accepted and added to the tally, and there were fourteen (14) after-election ballots of which six (6) were accepted and added to the tally.  Official Canvass results were as follows:

ABSTRACT OF VOTES
Woodbury County, Iowa

We, the undersigned Members of the Board of Supervisors, and ex-officio Board of County Canvassers, for Woodbury
County, hereby certify the following to be a true and correct abstract of the votes cast in this County at the Sioux City
Primary Election held on the 11th day of October, 2011, as shown by the tally lists returned from the several election
precincts.

For the office of City of Sioux City Mayor 4 year term, there were five thousand seven hundred sixty-three (5763) votes cast as follows:

Susan C Barta Received six hundred forty (640) votes
Thomas R Padgett   Received two thousand nine hundred ninety-four (2994) votes
Bob Scott Received two thousand one hundred twenty-nine (2129) votes

We Therefore declare Thomas R Padgett and Bob Scott duly elected to go on to the City Regular Election November 8th, 2011.

For the office of City of Sioux City Council Member 4 year term, there were five thousand eight hundred (5800) votes cast as follows:

Rhonda Capron Received two thousand six hundred eighty-five (2685) votes
Flora M Lee Received one thousand one hundred seventy-seven (1177) votes
Aaron J Rochester Received one thousand one hundred thirty (1130) votes
Thomas Venesky Received one hundred eight (108) votes
Wesley E Whitead Received seven hundred (700) votes

We therefore declare Rhonda Capron and Flora M Lee duly elected to go on to the City Regular Election November 8th, 2011.

Motion by second by to approve and accept the Official Canvass results.  Carried 4-0.  Copy filed.

The Board adjourned the meeting.
