AUGUST 4, 2009THIRTY-SECOND MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. Board members present were Boykin, Clausen, Monson, Smith, and Walish. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrator, Loan Hensley, Assistant County Attorney, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

The Claims were approved as presented. Copy filed.

Board of Supervisors meeting was called to order.

Motion by Monson second by Smith to approve the Board minutes of the 07/28/2009 meeting as submitted. Carried 4-0; Clausen abstained. Copy filed.

The Board approved the separation of Paul A. Prather, Maintenance Technician, Building Services Dept., effective 07/26/2009. Deceased. Copy filed.

The Board approved the separation of Francis E. Crilly, Equipment Operator, Secondary Roads Dept., effective 07/31/2009. Resignation. Copy filed.

The Board approved the separation of Reese A. Sudtelgte, Temporary Engineering Aide, Secondary Roads Dept., effective 08/14/2009. End of temporary work. Copy filed.

Motion by Boykin second by Walish to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an Authorization to Initiate Hiring Process form for:

Position: Maintenance Technician, Building Services Dept.
Entry level: AFSCME Courthouse Grade 4 range $14.25-$15.44/hour

Position: Equipment Operator, Secondary Roads Dept.
Entry level: CWA $18.07/hour

Motion by Boykin second by Smith to approve and receive for signatures a Resolution naming depositories for the Woodbury County Conservation Department. Carried 5-0.

RESOLUTION NAMING DEPOSITORIES #10,592
BE IT RESOLVED by the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors in Woodbury County, Iowa: That we do hereby designate the following named banks to be depositories of the Woodbury County funds in amounts not to exceed the amount named opposite each of said designated depositories and Rick Schneider, Woodbury County Conservation is hereby authorized to deposit the Woodbury County funds in amounts not to exceed in the aggregate the amounts named for said banks as follows, to wit:

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a Certificate of Substantial Completion for the Courthouse Restoration Phase IX Project (Skylights and Social Services Office remodeling), per recommendation of Patty Erickson-Puttmann, Social Services Coordinator. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Monson second by Walish to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign final platting for Kielhorn Addition, GIS parcel #894235100011, per recommendation of John Pylelo, Planning and Zoning Administrator. Carried 5-0.

BOARD OF SUPERVISOR'S RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION NO. 10,593

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING KIELHORN ADDITION, WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA.

Whereas, the owners and proprietors did on the 1st day of July 2009, file with the Woodbury County Zoning Commission a certain plat designated as Kielhorn Addition, Woodbury County, Iowa; and

Whereas, it appears that said plat conforms with all of the provisions of the Code of the State of Iowa and ordinances of Woodbury County, Iowa, with reference to the filing of same; and

Whereas, the Zoning Commission of Woodbury County, Iowa has recommended the acceptance and approval of said plat; and

Whereas, the County Engineer of Woodbury County, Iowa has recommended the acceptance and approval of said plat.

Now therefore, be, and it is hereby resolved by the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors, Woodbury County, State of Iowa, that the plat of Kielhorn Addition; Woodbury County, Iowa, be, and the same is hereby accepted and approved, and the chairman and secretary of the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors, Woodbury County, State of Iowa, are hereby directed to furnish to the owners and proprietors a certified copy of this resolution as required by law.
