The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. Board members present were Batcheller, Boykin, Clausen, Monson, and Walish. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrator, Loan Hensley, Assistant County Attorney, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

Meeting called to order.

Motion by Monson second by Batcheller to approve the Board minutes of the July 3, 2007 meeting as submitted. Carried 4-0, Boykin abstained.

The Board approved the separation of Nicholas J. Christiansen, Juvenile Detention Dept., effective 06/23/2007. Resignation. Copy filed.

The Board approved the reclassification of Lisa M. Drum, Part-time Youth Worker, Juvenile Detention Dept., $14.99/hour, effective 07/20/2007. Per AFSCME J. D. contract agreement, from Grade 1, Step 2 to Grade 1, Step 3. Copy filed.

Motion by Clausen second by Batcheller to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an Authorization to Hire for a Part-time Male Youth Worker, Juvenile Detention Department. Entry level: AFSCME J. D. $13.94/hour. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Batcheller second by Monson to receive the County Sheriffs Report of Unadjudicated Condemnation Funds for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to approve the reappointment of Lloyd Henderson as Commissioner of Veteran Affairs, for the term beginning July 1, 2007. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Batcheller second by Clausen to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Sioux City and Woodbury County, creating the Woodbury County Information and Communication Commission. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Batcheller second by Boykin to postpone action to award a bid for food service for the Juvenile Detention Center and to restart the bidding process. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Boykin second by Monson to go into closed session per Iowa Code 21.5(1)(c). Carried 5-0 on a roll-call vote.

Motion by Boykin second by Monson to go out of closed session per Iowa Code 21.5(1)(c). Carried 5-0 on a roll-call vote.

The Chairman asked if there were any individuals or groups wishing to make a presentation of items not on the agenda or Supervisors concerns.

The Board adjourned the regular meeting until July 17, 2007.
