The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. Board members present were Batcheller, Boykin, Clausen, Monson and Walish. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrator, Loan Hensley, Assistant County Attorney, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

The Board discussed safety CPR training and grant funding issues with Gloria Mollet, HR/Safety Coordinator.

Motion by Boykin second by Monson to approve the purchase of fifteen and the exchange of four automated external defibrillators to be purchased partially with grant funds. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Monson second by Batcheller to approve a cigarette/tobacco sales permit renewal for Heritage Express, 1501 330th Street, Sloan, Iowa, effective 07/01/2007 through 06/30/2008. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Batcheller second by Monson to approve a cigarette/tobacco sales permit renewal for Salix Gas, 1556 275th Street, Salix, Iowa, effective 07/01/2007 through 06/30/2008. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to approve Goodwill using the cost savings of $4,909 in the van package previously approved at $40,000, with actual cost only $35,091, to be used for carpeting and furniture. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Batcheller second by Monson to approve change order #8 for the Courthouse Restoration Project (sidewalk), in the amount of $7,141, for repair of unforeseen items and repairs, per recommendation of Patti Erickson-Puttmann. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Clausen second by Boykin to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a final voucher for project #STP-S-CO97(53)5E-97, per recommendation of the County Engineer. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.
