APRIL 17, 2007SIXTEENTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. Board members present were Batcheller, Boykin, Clausen, Monson, and Walish. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrator, Bobbier Johnson and Loan Hensley, Assistant County Attorney, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

The Claims were approved as presented. Copy filed.

Meeting called to order.

Motion by Batcheller second by Boykin to approve the Board minutes of the April 10, 2007 meeting as submitted. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

The Board approved the separation of Lindsey M. Fiksdale, Social Services Intern, Social Services Dept., effective 05/01/2007. Resignation. Copy filed.

The Board approved the reclassification of Janet I. Miller, Motor Vehicle Clerk II, County Treasurer Dept., $12.22/hour, effective 05/09/2007. Per AFSCME Courthouse contract agreement, from Grade 4, Step 1 to Grade 4, Step 2. Copy filed.

Motion by Batcheller second by Monson to receive the Auditors quarterly report of receipts and disbursements for the 3rd quarter ending 03/31/2007. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Monson second by Clausen to approve lifting the tax suspension for Marcia Decker, 1219 W. 6th Street, Sioux City, Iowa, as this person is deceased. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Clausen second by Monson to approve lifting the tax suspension for Margaret A. Roark, 306 W. Main Street, Sioux City, Iowa, as the property has been sold. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Batcheller second by Clausen to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a Resolution approving the final plat of Sandhill Estates Second Addition Subdivision, GIS#8647 13 300 002, per recommendation of John Pylelo, Planning and Zoning Director. Carried 5-0.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING SANDHILL ESTATES
SECOND ADDITION, WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA

Whereas the owners and proprietors did on the 30th day of March, 2007, file with the Woodbury Planning and Zoning Office of Woodbury County, Iowa, a certain plat designated as Sandhill Estates, Second Addition, Woodbury County, Iowa and

Whereas it appears that said plat conforms with all of the provisions of the Code of the State of Iowa and ordinances of Woodbury County, Iowa, with reference to the filing of same.

Now therefore, be it resolved by the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors, Woodbury County, State of Iowa, that the plat of Sandhill Estates, Second Addition, Woodbury County, Iowa, be, and the same is hereby accepted and approved, and the Chairman and Secretary of the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors, Woodbury County, State of Iowa, are hereby directed to furnish to the owners and proprietors a certified copy of this Resolution as required by law.

The Board reviewed final platting of Ty Estates Addition Subdivision, parcel GIS #8847 29 102 004, with John Pylelo, Planning/Zoning Director.

Motion by Monson second by Boykin to approve the final platting for Ty Estates Addition Subdivision, and to refer the final platting to the Zoning Commission for review and recommendations. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Batcheller second by Monson to accept the quote from Denco Corporation, Mingo, Iowa, for maintenance bridge deck repairs at various locations, in the amount of $56,969.76, per recommendation of the County Engineer. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

The Chairman asked if there were any individuals or groups wishing to make a presentation of items not on the agenda or Supervisors concerns.

Scott Lanagan, of the Woodbury County Sherriffs Office, addressed the Board about the reinstatement of lost vacation time.

The Board adjourned the regular meeting until April 24, 2007.
