OCTOBER 13, 2005 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, October 13, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. Board members present were Boykin, Monson, and Walish. Staff member present was Victoria L. Ritz, Deputy Commissioner of Elections/Clerk to the Board.
The meeting was called to order to canvass the City Primary Election held in Woodbury County on October 11, 2005.
Victoria Ritz, Deputy Commissioner of Elections, announced there were four (4) provisional ballots of which three (3) were accepted and added to the tally and there were no after-election absentee ballots to be considered. Official Canvass results were as follows:
For the office of Sioux City Council Member, there were four-thousand five-hundred and twenty-seven (4,527) ballots cast as follows:
Judy A. Darwin received
Five-hundred, sixty-five (565) votes
David W. Ferris received
Two-thousand, forty-eight (2,048) votes
James A. Haigh received
One-thousand, one-hundred, eight (1,108) votes
Brent Hoffman received
Two-thousand, two-hundred, forty-four (2,244) votes
Donna J. Jensen received
One-thousand, two-hundred, forty-five (1,245) votes
Lenny Miller received
Six-hundred, twenty-one (621) votes
Joshua Paul Reilly received
Three-hundred (300) votes
Jim Rixner received
One-thousand, seven-hundred, forty-nine (1,749) votes
Karen L. VanDeSteeg received
One-thousand, eight-hundred, sixteen (1,816) votes
Lamont L. Wright received
Two-hundred, seventy-six (276) votes
Scattered Write-ins received
Twenty-one (21) votes
We therefore declare David W. Ferris, James A. Haigh, Brent Hoffman,Donna J. Jensen,
Jim Rixner, and Karen L. VanDeSteeg duly elected to go on to the regular election ballot on November 8, 2005.
Motion by Monson second by Walish to approve and accept the Official Canvass results. Carried 3-0. Copy filed.
The Board adjourned the meeting.
