OCTOBER 9, 2003 - SPECIAL MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, October 9, 2003 at 1:00 PM to canvass the City Primary Election for the City of Sioux City. Board members present were Batcheller, Boykin, Walish and Welte; Clausen was absent. Staff members present were Patrick F. Gill, Clerk to the Board, and Victoria L Ritz, Deputy Commissioner of Elections.

Victoria L. Ritz, Deputy Commissioner of Elections, announced there were eight special challenged ballots, of which two were accepted and added to the tally, and no after-election absentee ballots.

The votes were as follows:

For the office of Sioux City Council Member, there were five thousand two hundred forty-seven (5,247) ballots cast as follows:

Ken Alderson received Seven hundred fifty-eight ( 758) votes
Craig S. Berenstein received Two thousand five hundred fifty-four (2,554) votes
Antonio Drake received Two thousand four hundred fifteen (2,415) votes
Jason E. Geary received One thousand three hundred fifty-seven (1,357) votes
Skip Jahde received One thousand five hundred thirty-one (1,531) votes
Daniel Johnson received One thousand three hundred fifteen (1,315) votes
Scattered Write-ins received Thirteen ( 13) votes

We therefore declare Craig S. Berenstein, Antonio Drake, Jason E. Geary and Skip Jahde duly elected to go on to the Regular Election Ballot on November 4, 2003.

Motion by Batcheller second by Welte to accept the official canvass from the City Primary Election of October 7, 2003 for the City of Sioux City. Carried 4-0. Copy filed.

The Board adjourned the meeting.
