NOVEMBER 12, 2002 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at 3:30 P.M. Board members present were Batcheller, Boykin, Walish and Welte, Clausen was absent. Staff members present were Patrick F. Gill, County Auditor/Board Secretary, and Victoria L. Ritz, Deputy Commissioner of Elections.
The meeting was called to order to canvass the General Election held in Woodbury County on November 5, 2002.
Motion by Batcheller second by Welte to appoint Walish as temporary chairperson for this meeting. Carried 4-0.
Various township contests that had ties were decided by lot. Motion by Welte second by Boykin to approve the selections by lot. Carried 4-0.
Victoria Ritz, Deputy Commissioner of Elections, announced there were 170 total special challenged ballots, of which 109 were accepted and added to the Tally and 61 were rejected. There were also 57 after election absentee ballots which were timely postmarked and received prior to the canvass and added to the Tally.
