OCTOBER 8, 2002FIFTEENTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at 9:00 A.M. Board members present were Batcheller, Boykin, Clausen, Walish and Welte. Staff members present were Sonya Pierce, Executive Secretary, Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board, and John Sullivan, Board Legal Counsel.

The Claims were approved as presented. Copy filed.

Meeting called to order.

Motion by Walish second by Boykin to approve the Board minutes of October 1, 2002 as submitted. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Welte second by Walish to approve the minutes of the special meeting of September 30, 2002 as submitted. Carried 5-0.

The Board approved the appointment of Debra L. Mahr, Temporary Election Clerk II, County Auditor/Recorder Dept., @$10.26/hour, effective 9-30-02. Not to exceed 120 days. Copy filed.

The Board approved the appointment of Dorrine F. Norby, Temporary Election Clerk II, County Auditor/Recorder Dept., @$10.26/hour, effective 10-03-02. Not to exceed 120 days. Copy filed.

The Board approved the reclassification of Lisa M. Wilson, Secretary, Social Services Dept., @$14.24/hour, effective 10-19-02. Per Wage Plan comparability with AFSCME Cthouse. Contract: Grade 6, Step 4. Copy filed.

Motion by Welte second by Boykin to receive and approve plans for Project L-79273-97. Copy filed. Carried 5-0.

Motion by Batcheller second by Walish to authorize the Chairman to sign a Utility Accommodation Permit submitted by Northwest Iowa Telephone Co., Sergeant Bluff, IA, per recommendation of the county engineer. Carried 5-0. Copy filed.

The Chairman asked if there were any individual or group wishing to make a presentation of items not on the agenda or Supervisors concerns.

Nancy Clearwater approached the Board with a request to acquire a portion of property owned by the county adjacent to her property located at 2952 S. St. Marys Street, Sioux City.

Clausen, Boykin and Walish inspected the Trosper-Hoyt Building.

The Board adjourned the regular meeting until October 15, 2002.
