JUNE 11, 2002FORTY EIGHTH MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at 9:00 A.M. Board members present were Batcheller, Walish and Welte; Boykin and Clausen were absent. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Coordinator, Victoria L. Ritz, Deputy Commissioner of Elections/Clerk to the Board, and John Rusch, Board Legal Counsel.

The Claims were approved as presented. Copy filed.

Motion by Batcheller second by Walish to appoint Welte as Chair. Carried 3-0.

The Board canvassed the June 4, 2002, General Primary Election at 9:00 AM with the following official results:

Victoria L. Ritz, Deputy Commissioner of Elections, announced there were three (3) special challenged ballots, of which two (2) were accepted and added to the Tally and eighteen (18) after election absentee ballots that were timely postmarked and added to the Tally.

County Government for the Fiscal Year 2003, beginning July 1, 2002, and

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors that the amounts

However, should a Program Activity approach a spending level challenging its appropriation level, and the
Service Area continues balanced, the Board of Supervisors will be requested to increase the Program's
spending authority by resolving to permit such, and,

Additionally, the Board of Supervisors may be requested to decrease a Program's appropriation by 10% or
$5,000, whichever is greater, to appropriate a like amount to a Program Activity requesting same: 331.435
will govern actions in this regard.

The above and foregoing resolution was adopted by the Board of Supervisors of Woodbury County on June
11th, 2002 and certified as follows:

The Chairman asked if there were any individual or group wishing to make a presentation of items not on the agenda or Supervisors concerns.

Gail Bauerly voiced his concern about eliminating Sheriffs Deputies. The Board explained that they are still looking at possibilities for solving this issue.

The Board adjourned the regular meeting until June 18, 2002.
