FEBRUARY 15, 2000 THIRTIETH MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, February 15, 2000 at 9:00 A.M. Board members present were Clausen, Walish and Welte. Boykin and Batcheller were absent. Staff members present were Karen James, Public Bidder, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board.

The Claims were approved as presented. Copy filed.

Meeting was called to order.

Motion by Welte second by Walish to appoint Larry Clausen as temporary chair. Carried 3-0.

Motion by Walish second by Welte to approve the regular Board minutes of February 8, 2000 as submitted. Carried 3-0.

The Board approved the appointment of Bryan A. Moran, Maintenance Worker, Building Services, @$8.51/hr., effective 1-16-00 per job vacancy posted: 1-6-00, salary range: $8.51 - $11.22/hr. Copy filed.

The Board approved the appointment of Larry C. Swanberg, Maintenance Technician, Building Services, @$11.77/hr., effective 2-28-00 per job vacancy reposted: 1-27-00, salary range: $10.02 - $12.81/hr. Copy filed.

Motion by Welte second by Walish to approve a compensation adjustment of 3.5% for wage plan employees for FY 00-01. Carried 3-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Welte second by Walish to approve and authorize Chairman to sign Resolution No. 9257 for a Public Hearing for sale of Real Estate Parcels #612977 and 612984. Carried 3-0.

NOTICE OF PROPERTY SALE

Parcel # 612977 & 612984

WHEREAS Woodbury County, Iowa is the owner under a tax deed of a certain parcel of real estate described as:

Lot Two (2) Olivers Addition, City of Lawton (a.k.a 403 Maple Street)

Lot Nine (9) Olivers Addition, City of Lawton (a.k.a 406 Maple Street)

NOW THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Woodbury County, Iowa as follows:

That a public hearing on the aforesaid proposal shall be held on the 29th
day of February, 2000, at 10:15 o'clock a.m. in the meeting room of the
Board of Supervisors on the first floor of the Woodbury County Courthouse.

That said Board proposes to sell the said parcel of real estate to Stuart
Oliver only on the 29th day of February, 2000, immediately following the closing of the public hearing.

That said Board proposes to sell the said real estate to Stuart Oliver
only for the amount of $557.00 plus recording fees.

That this resolution, preceded by the caption 'Notice of Property Sale', and except for this subparagraph 4, be published as notice of the aforesaid proposal, hearing and sale.

The Board discussed assignment of the tax certificates and the County relinquishment of the back taxes currently owed against the property at 2325 Port Neal Road, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.

Motion by Welte second by Walish to approve and authorize Chairman to sign the Project Agreement with Hungry Canyons Alliance for cost sharing on a stream stabilization project per recommendation of the County Engineer. Carried 3-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Walish second by Welte to authorize Chairman to sign Utility Accommodation Permit submitted by Lundell Construction Co. Inc., Cherokee, Iowa per recommendation of the County Engineer. Carried 3-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Welte second by Walish to receive and approve plans for Project L-892-73-97 per recommendation of the County Engineer. Carried 3-0. Copy filed.

Motion by Walish second by Welte to receive and approve the mechanical work and fire alarm system for Prairie Hill Center for the sum of $84,290 to be expended from the infrastructure fund, per recommendation of Mark Elgert, Building Superintendent, and Dave Amick, Sheriff. Carried 3-0.

The Board reviewed the change order #G3 for the Treasurers Motor Vehicle Department at the Trosper Hoyt Building.

Motion by Welte second by Walish to approve change order #G3 for the Treasurers Motor Vehicle move to Trosper-Hoyt Building. Carried 3-0. Copy filed.

The Board adjourned the regular meeting until February 22, 2000.
