MARCH 12, 1998 THIRTY EIGHTH MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board of Supervisors met on Thursday, March 12, 1998 at 9:00 A.M. Board members present were Batcheller, Boykin, Burnight, Clausen, and Welte. Staff members present were Nancy Hodge, Board Administrative Coordinator, Patrick F. Gill, County Auditor/Board Secretary, and Dennis Butler, Budget/Tax Analyst.
Meeting called to order.
Motion by Clausen second by Boykin to close the Public Hearing for the FY 1998-99 Budget. Carried 5-0.
Motion by Batcheller second by Boykin to adopt the budget. Carried 5-0.
Motion by Clausen second by Boykin to accept the Compensation Boards recommendation. Carried 3-2 on roll call vote. Batcheller and Burnight nay.
Motion by Burnight second by Boykin to go into Executive Session per Iowa Code Section 21.5 (1)(i). Carried 5-0 on roll call vote.
Motion by Boykin second by Batcheller to go out of Executive Session. Carried 5-0 on roll call vote.
Motion by Boykin second by Welte to allow Patty Erickson-Puttmann to negotiate with the Aid Center Board and purchase of the building directly north of the Siouxland District Health Buildings. Carried 5-0.
Motion by Boykin second by Clausen to use the Infrastructure/Economic Development Fund to purchase the building. Carried 5-0.
The Board adjourned the meeting until March 17, 1998.
