The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors is comprised of five elected officials, with an administrative staff consisting of a Finance/Operation Controller, a Board Administrative Coordinator, and an Executive Secretary/Public Bidder. Meetings are every Tuesday at 4:30 pm, except on scheduled and major holidays.

About Daniel Bittinger II
Daniel A. Bittinger II originally from Wadsworth, Ohio moved with his family to Sioux City in 2014.
He is the lead pastor at Crosspointe Church which is located on the west side of Sioux City. Daniel holds a B.S. in Mass Communications, with a focus in video broadcast, from Southeastern University. He has been an ordained minister with The Assemblies of God Fellowship since 2012.
He has been married to his wife Jinger for over 20 years. Together, they have 3 wonderful teenagers.
His focuses are budget accountability, promoting tax relief, economic development, striving to keep Woodbury County within its constitutional authority, and supporting the rule of law.

About Mark Nelson
Mark is a 5th generation farmer who grew up east of Moville, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University and has a degree in Agricultural Studies. Mark was sworn in as Supervisor of District 3 on January 23, 2023. Mark farms full time on a diversified grain and livestock farm outside of Correctionville. He also has many years of experience owning and running a retail and transportation business. He has been married to his wife Melissa for 8 years and they have 2 boys, Roy and Charlie.
His focus is on fiscal responsibility, economic development to entice new residents and keep current ones here, conservation, and long-term planning.

About Matthew Ung
Matthew A. Ung, a lifetime resident of Woodbury County, was elected to the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors November 4, 2014 and was sworn in November 10, 2014. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Creighton University along with a Master of Theology degree, and has over 15 years' experience in healthcare administration, providing business management to multiple practices with several million dollars in annual revenue. He has been married to his wife Nheylin--a naturalized U.S. citizen from Honduras--for over 13 years, and together they have two young daughters, Charlotte and Madeline.
His focuses are to champion tax relief, prioritize essential functions of government like infrastructure, and contribute to long-term economic planning.

About Kent Carper
Kent has lived in Sioux City for 27 years and has been married to his wife for 26 years. Together they have four wonderful children and one grandson. He has served in the Army National Guard for 16 years as an Army Medic and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant. In his professional life, Kent has been a nurse for 32 years and ran a small business with his wife. Currently, Kent operates four farms with his siblings in Northwest Iowa. Kent enjoys playing the guitar, riding motorcycles, camping, kayaking and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings. He also serves at his local church as the missions pastor.

About David Dietrich
Dave grew up in Hornick, graduated from Westwood High School in Sloan and is a lifelong resident of Woodbury County and was sworn in as Supervisor of District 5 on December 31, 2024. Dave retired from the military after serving 32 years at the 185th Air Fueling Wing on February 1, 2024 where he was a mechanic on the F-16 and an inflight refueling specialist on the KC-135. He achieved the highest enlisted grade of E-9, which is only achieved by 1% of the Air Force. Dave married his wife Amy in 2009 and they live with their children on a rural acreage.
His focuses are to be fiscally conservative, ensure county law enforcement/emergency services have the equipment and training to serve the county. Also to see that county secondary roads are continually improved.
