Assessor’s Office to Host Public Informational Meeting
A public informational meeting with Sioux City Assessor Tyler Erickson will be held on Thursday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sioux City Public Museum, 607 4th Street. Topics will include what is required of the assessor’s office, defining market value, the difference between assessed value and taxable value, and how the state rollback works.

Assessment notices for real estate located within Sioux City were mailed in late March. Assessed values reflect the fair market value of property as of January 1, 2023. Nearly all residential properties will see an increase in assessed value for 2023 as 2022 was a sellers’ market due to low inventory and high demand, leading to higher sale prices.
