Welcome to the World of the Woodbury County Treasurer site, her deputies and staff. You will find here a knowledgeable, ready to serve group of individuals that staff three departments, all here for the convenience of the residents and taxpayers of Woodbury County.

The Motor Vehicle Division of the Treasurer's Office issues vehicle titles and licenses, registers, collects all vehicle fees for the residents of Woodbury County. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) issues hunting and fishing licenses, and also processes titles and registrations for boats, ATVs, and snowmobiles.  

The Woodbury County Treasurer's offices in Sioux City (Motor Vehicle-Trosper/Hoyt Building) and Anthon are the only treasurer's offices in the state to offer DNR services. 

The main Property Tax office, Motor Vehicle Division and DNR are located at 822 Douglas St Sioux City. The Little Courthouse in Anthon at 105 N 2nd St, can do Tax, Motor Vehicle and DNR.

Our offices are open to the public from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.  The Treasurer’s office will continue to practice social distancing and asks only one customer per transaction when visiting an office location.  

We process a maximum of three (3) titles for a walk-in Services visit until 4:15 pmIf additional title transfers are necessary, please make an appointment by calling (712) 279-6500 so that we can provide you with the best possible customer service while continuing to assist other customers.  

The drive-up window at the Sioux City location is open from 8:00 to 4:30 pm for vehicle renewals and tax payment with tax statement only.  Delinquent taxes will not be accepted at the drive-up window.  Only cash or check will be accepted at the drive-up window.

A Dealer Service Desk is available at our Sioux City Office where authorized Car Dealers can drop off title transfers that will be ready for pick up the next day. 

The Dealer Desk is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  They can process a maximum of three (3) titles for a walk-in Dealer visit until 4:15 pm. 

*Both Offices are typically closed from 8:00 am to 9:00 am on the 2nd Thursday of each month for staff meetings.

Customers also have the option to pay property taxes and renew vehicle licenses on-line, through the mail or by utilizing the drop off box.

For on-line payments customers can select the link above.  Payments can be made with eCheck*, Discover, Mastercard and Visa.

A Fee of $30.00 will be charged for all dishonored checks, drafts or orders as prescribed in Iowa Code 554.3512.

A bill of sale is required on all title transfers (including trailers).

The Iowa State Treasurer's Association in conjunction with the Iowa Department of Revenue aim to substantiate vehicle purchase prices.

A Bill of Sale must include: Seller Name, Buyer Name, Purchase Price, Vehicle Details (year, make, model, VIN).  Form must be signed by the seller.
